I would like to print a report that is plain and simple, no groupings, no summaries, just a columns and rows with data. I did it once, but don't remember how it is done. Could you help?
See image below. I'd like to remove everything that is in a red square. The report shown is Open Sales Orders by Item. But hopefully the solution works for all reports. Thank you!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Try running a Transaction Detail Report from the Custom Reports option on the Reports menu. It does not have any groupings.
Hello there, @TEGv.
I appreciate you for attaching a screenshot above.
At this time, the option to remove the grouping and summaries in the report is unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Creating a sales order automatically group the item by its customer. This is working as a design in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). While this option is unavailable, I'll be sure to send a feature request to our Product Development Team. We frequently update QuickBooks, and this might be included in the future product updates.
For future reference, read through this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop. It helps you learn about generating personalized reports to only show details that matter to you and your business.
I'm just a comment away if you have other concerns. Enjoy the rest of your day. Keep safe.
Thank you for your reply.
Maybe I did not explain clearly what I need. Because based on my experience it is possible. I did it in a Open Purchase Order Report, just don't remember how or what I changed to achieve it (see image below). Somehow it does not have what I call "groupings" or "summaries'.
How can I do the same in a Sales Order report?
Thank you for the response and providing us a sample screenshot of the report that you're trying to achieve, @TEGv.
You can customize the Detail Level of the report. This Detail Level Filter lets you choose either you'll show or suppress the detail lines for each transaction.
When you choose All, it'll include the detail lines for each transaction. If you choose Summary only, it'll exclude detail lines. The report shows only the total amount of each transaction. If you choose All except summary, it'll include the detail lines for each transaction without the transaction totals.
Here's how to filter it:
You can always check the customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop article that was provided by my colleague above for more information.
Let me know if you still have questions. I'm always here to answer them for you. Have a wonderful day!
Try running a Transaction Detail Report from the Custom Reports option on the Reports menu. It does not have any groupings.
Thank you for your help! You hit the nail on the head :)
