Greetings, @user06708.

Let's make sure that your QuickBooks tax form is set to non-profit. This way, the list of accounts in the Chart of Accounts are aligned with it.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear Icon.
  2. Choose Account and Settings.
  3. Select the Company menu.
  4. From the CompanyType section, click the Pencil Icon.
  5. Select Nonprofit organization from the Tax Form drop-down menu.
  6. Click the Save button.
  7. Hit Done.

Once completed, you can check your chart of accounts. You can also import your lists of the chart of accounts. You refer to this link for more detailed instructions: How to import Chart of Accounts templates.

Swing by here if you have other questions about managing your chart of accounts in QuickBooks. I'm just a few clicks away.

Hello @user06708. The point is you could create any Name for the account you want. Regarding the type for that donation account many users choose income type.
In order to create a new account please press the green "New" button in the Accounting->Chart of accounts tab.
Should you have any further questions Stan is by your side!
