I understand how you feel when something isn't working the way you need it to, @bigskycranerepai. I'm here to provide the steps to successfully log into your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company file and write checks afterward. This way, your business will get back on track.

The login credentials may be entered incorrectly for multiple attempts. That could be the reason you're unable to sign in to your account.

To help fix this, let's use the Automated Password Reset Tool to help you access your company file. I'll guide you how.

  1. Download the Automated Password Reset Tool.
  2. Select your QBDT version.
  3. Enter the QuickBooks License number and other business info, then click Next.
  4. Accept the license agreement to auto-download the tool. Click Download Now if that doesn't work.
  5. Run the Automated Password Reset tool and then enter the token number received via email.
  6. From the QuickBooks Desktop Products drop-down list, select the same QBDT version.
  7. Choose Browse for Company File and select the company file you want to reset the password for.
  8. Enter your new password and then confirm it.
  9. Click Reset Password.

To learn more about the process above, check out this article: Use The Automated Password Reset Tool

However, if the issue persists, let's retrieve your credentials by going to this link: www.quickbooks.com/account. Then, select Forgot your Password? or Forgot your User ID? and follow the on-screen instructions. Go back to your company file and try logging in again. For more details, visit this article: Manage Your Intuit Account Online. Just go the "How do I recover a forgotten User ID or Password?" section.

Also, I recommend visiting this website: Get Help If You Can't Sign In To Your Account. It provides you with some common login issues and their solutions.

Once resolved, you can now write checks in QBDT. You can also edit, void, delete, print, or memorize them. For more information, see this article: Checks Overview

Since you're also using QuickBooks Online (QBO), let's go to the Billing & Subscription tab from Account and Settings. This page helps you manage your payment and plan info in the program.

Please know that I'm here anytime you need anything else. Keep safe always, @bigskycranerepai.
