I am launching an e-commerce site with our Quickbooks Online account and Woo Commerce. How do I not offer all of my products on the website but not make them inactive?

I want to be able to continue to offer all of my products in my brick and mortar shop (using Quickbooks payment as our POS), but do not want to sell every product on our website.   Is this possible?

You can only offer or display some merchandise in your webstore. But you need to have a third party inventory management app to sync data between WC and QBO. You may also need to use a paid connector to reconcile transactions between WC and QBO.

We plan to use the OneSaas connector by Intuit.  All of our inventory is managed in QBO so we do not need a saparate inventory manager.  I just need to know how to have only certain products appear on the website from QBO - without inactivating them in the meantime. Thanks.

I'll share some details about QuickBooks Connector (OneSaas) by Intuit, bayheadneedlepoint.

QuickBooks Connector lets you manage your synchronization. You can turn the automatic sync on or off if you prefer to trigger a sync manually. Also, when using the OneSaas connector, this lets you do the following:

  • Retrieves orders from Your Wix Store, Wix Bookings, Wix Events, etc.
  • Creates new items in your QuickBooks Online account when you create products in your store.
  • Automatically create sales in your QuickBooks Online for customers' orders on your site.
  • Map tax codes from your store orders to tax codes in your QuickBooks Online.
  • Eliminate human error from manual data entry between your QuickBooks Online and your website.

You'll want to reach out to QuickBooks Connector support to check if you can only have certain products appear on the website from QBO without inactivating them. You can choose the Customization Request option under the I need assistance section.

To give you more information on how to manage sync settings, check out this article for more information: Manage Your QuickBooks Connector Sync Settings.

Additionally, learn how to buy and sell your inventory into QuickBooks. Go through this article for more details: Add Inventory Products In QuickBooks Online.

The QB connector offers limited functionality. You need to have a backup recovery app to reduce any risk before connecting the apps.
