Welcome to the Community, ktccca-outlook-c.

Allow me to assist you with the printing setup for QuickBooks compatible checks.

Before we start printing checks, prepare and load some blank paper to your printer for the test prints. That way, if you need to adjust the check alignment, you won't waste any actual checks.

Once you're ready, go to your printing set up and choose the type of check that we're going to use. Here's how:

  1. Click on + New, then Print checks.
  2. Select Print setup.
  3. Choose your check type, voucher or standard.
  4. Tap on View preview and print sample. Then hit Print.
  5. Follow the on-screen steps to finish printing your sample check.
  6. Put the sample print under a blank check. See if they line up correctly.

If your blank check doesn't line up with your print sample, follow the steps outlined in this article to fix them: Configure your print settings for printing checks in QuickBooks Online.

I'm also including this link as an additional resource in case you need assistance with common printing problems: Fix QuickBooks Online printing issues on browsers for Windows.

You're welcome to return to this thread if you require further assistance with printing checks. I'd be delighted to assist. Take care and have a great day.

These wallet checks are not even close what is trying to print.  I tried to fine tune but it is not close.  I have stubs on the end of the check and they checks are smaller.  Is there not a template that comes with those checks to make printing easier.

I can see you’ve done your due diligence trying to get this resolved, ktccca-outlook-c.

I appreciate you for performing the steps provided by my colleague to print the check with the right alignment on the checks you brought from Intuit. First, make sure to have the latest version of Adobe Reader. Then, set this as the default PDF viewer for your browser. Lastly, try to print a sample.

Aside from the Fine-tune alignment, let's adjust the scale on your print dialog box. When selecting the print option in QuickBooks, your default print dialog box opens. Depending on your setup, this might be the print dialog from your browser, Adobe Acrobat, or your printer’s driver. The steps for adjusting the scale or page size vary for each printing experience. Here are some common tips for adjusting the scale of your tool:

  • Learn how to adjust print scale in Adobe Acrobat.
  • Learn how to adjust print scale in common Brother printers.
  • Learn how to scale or resize the printout in common HP printers (look for layout and formatting settings).
  • Learn how to adjust print scale in common Canon printers.

Once done, let's set up check alignment by following the steps below:

  1. Select Align check, then select Print alignment form to print a sample check.
  2. Follow the instructions, then close the window.
  3. Follow the instructions, then enter the letter and number that fits best.
  4. Press Save, then Done.

In case you're unable to find your checks from the print queue, you can refer to this handy article for the fixes: Checks are missing. To keep track of all your checks in QBO, you can run the Check Detail report. To achieve this, go to the Reports menu, and then select the said report from the Expenses and vendors section.

Please know that my doors are always open to help if you have other concerns about your checks. Just leave a comment below. Keep safe.

This is so crazy.  Not sure why there is not a template that can make this easier than trying to  adjust printing sizes.  I feel like I wasted my money on these checks because it should not be this hard to print them since I bought them from Quickbooks.  I am very unhappy.

Did you ever get this resolved?

I had been using QB Desktop for over 15 years and set up for cheques was super simple.

Now that i have moved to QBO i am having the same issues you had back in 2023.

i have seen several other posts with the same complaint and it seems even after years of complaints QB still hasn't resolved the issue.  That is very frustrating.

I understand how frustrating it can be, @PaaPaaTee especially when things don't go as planned. If you are using checks not sourced from Intuit, they should still be compatible with QuickBooks for printing. However, if you are using Intuit checks, alignment issues can occasionally occur as QuickBooks Online (QBO) relies on your browser’s PDF viewer for print settings.

To address this, you might need to adjust the print scaling through your PDF viewer. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to download and correctly configure your checks for printing: Configure your printer dialog box .

Here's how to download your check:

  1. Click + New.
  2. Under the Vendors column, choose Print checks.
  3. Enter the necessary fields, then select Preview and Print.
  4. Select Download.
  5. Adjust the print scaling to what suits your needs.

To ensure proper alignment, try printing on a blank sheet of paper first. This step helps prevent wasting actual checks and allows you to make any necessary adjustments before final printing.
