I created a budget for certain jobs. I created a report and filtered it including those jobs. Then, I created a custom report using to compare actuals to those budgets and was sure to filter IN those jobs. One of the jobs fails to incorporate into the rep

The information displayed on your reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO) depends on the type of report you’re using and the filters you’ve applied, Cynthia. Let’s dig deeper into your situation so we can figure out what's going on.

To start, I have a few questions to help clarify things:

  1. How did you create the budget? Did you make it directly in QBO or import it from somewhere else?
  2. What kind of budget was it? Did you create it for the Profit and Loss or for the Balance Sheet?
  3. How did you connect the budget to specific jobs? Did you use the Projects feature since QBO itself doesn't have a dedicated job functionality, or did you subdivide it by Class or Location?
  4. When it comes to the custom report, how exactly did you set it up? Since there isn’t an option to create a completely custom budget-specific report. Did you pull up the Budget vs. Actuals or Budget Overview report and adjust it to suit your needs?
  5. Lastly, did you use the Custom fields feature for tracking Rep to incorporate its jobs?

If you could share information about how you’ve structured all of this, it would help us better understand the issue and provide the right solution for you.

We look forward to hearing back from you.
