I'm working on my first budget upload. Is there a way to have the Budget vs Actual Report compare CURRENT Month to budget AND YTD Budget vs Actual?

In essence, the report would need 6 total columns - Current month's actual vs budget + over/under column AND the same 3 columns reflecting YTD.

Hello there, devonne-kahunain.

The option to run a comparison budget that includes the current month and year-to-date is a great feature. While this option isn't available, I have a workaround that you may want to consider.

You can run the Budget vs Actual report and filter it to the current month. Then, export it to an Excel file. The same thing with for the YTD data. On the Excel file, you can combine them to have a single report. I'll show you how:

  1. Click the Reports tab.
  2. Enter and select Budget vs. Actual.
  3. Filter the Report period to This month.
  4. Click Run report.
  5. Click the Export button and then select Export to Excel.
  6. Do the same steps for the YTD period.

I'll be adding some related links to help you get your way around the Reports feature in QBO:

If there are any other ways I can assist you, please let me know. I'll be right here.
