I need help with uploading American Express expenses, we have a parent account and 5 sub-accounts on same statement with one total, only the parent account uploads to QB

I need help with uploading American Express expenses, we have a parent account and 5 sub-accounts on same statement with one total, only the parent account uploads to QB

Hello alacour,

 

Some banks upload transactions to the parent account. You’ll want manually categorize them from parent account to each sub-account.

 

Here’s how:

 

  1. Go to Banking and choose Banking.
  2. Find the transactions under your sub-accounts.
  3. Select the Add button.
  4. Then, go to Accounting and click Chart of Accounts.
  5. Select View register in the added transaction.
  6. Hit the Edit button.
  7. In the transaction page, change the parent account to sub-account.
  8. Click Save and close.
