The most possible reason why it's not saving is because of a browser error. We can troubleshoot it so we can fix this issue.
Let's start by using an incognito window and update the phone number from there. You can also clear the cache. Too much cache can cause the browser to behave differently.

i need to update my banking account information and business address and it wont let me since i have to verify identity by phone number listed on her but that number is no longer in service. please help!

I think you will have to contact tech support on this issue in order to get another way to verify your identity. That's the final conclusion I came to. I tried contacting them, but it was after hours. Will have to try again during business hours.

I have the same issue! And I have it since 5/4/2022, today is 6/23/22, but the issue is STILL not fixed. I spent an hour + on the phone with them each week starting 5/4/22 trying different fixes and following up on existing cases, but the problem is still not resolved. This is a software code issue, and I think the solution could be fairly easy: implement alternative methods of authentication. Either the support has to be able to provide the verification code verbally, or send it via e-mail on file. I really hope they will listen as more people reach out with the same problem and finally fix this bug.
unfortunately, they are not able to help. Contacted support many times hoping one of them will finally figure it out, but to no avail. They end up creating a case which remains open for weeks without being resolved. The answer I keep getting is " they are working on it"
Not sure if this helps but if you go to settings (gear icon) then "account and settings" then edit "contact info" it changed the number on my invoices for me.
