No real reason to.

And since those ingredients are either hard to count or have a short shelf life I would not use inventory either, just post the purchase to COGS

Ok, is there a difference in fresh produce, meat, coffee beans and say syrup, sugar packets, mayo and mustard packets, chocolate etc. to make specialty drinks or are they ALL COGS?  An accountant said it depended on how quickly I went through the products.  Also, I am most concerned with true food costs, how can I separate these expenses so I have a realistic view?

What would be the difference is Job supplies and supplies and materials?

Can they both be COGS?  Where do cups, lids, straws fall?
