Join nowThe email does not include the 1099, only a link or instructions on how to access them online. Mailed copues go out no later than jan 31
My contractors got the email link, but they say they cant access the 1099? These folks are young and tech savvy so I doubt it's user error. I had one of them send me the email and it looks very straight forward but it's not working. I found it odd that it asks them to sign in with their intuit account? Why would they have an intuit account if they are simply a vendor getting paid? Maybe this is the issue. Please advise. thanks
They in fact do need an intuit account (free for them) in order to access their 1099, or to submit hours directly to you or even to self enter their information in your company.
When you originally added them as "contractors" (same as vendors but with the account options) they should have received an email back then. Possibly hey ignored those or they went to junk folders. The reference to company administrator is you, to resend them an invite to open their free account (it is not a free QB subscription, just to be an extra limited access user on your account - for review of their info, basically)
Thanks for your fast reponse, John. I'm trying to resend it but QB is not giving me option.
Hi there, @irivera8960,
Let's get the 1099 invite link working so you can resend it to your contractors.
In QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP), you'll have the option to resend the invite if contractors' Personal details weren't completed yet.
Since you don't have the option to resend the invite, the Personal details of the contractors have been completed. To help fix this, let's have them sign in to their QuickBooks Self-Employed account, and update their 1099 info as needed. Let's follow the steps to make the link available:
To learn more about inviting a contractor in QBOP, you can check out this article: Invite A Contractor to Add Their Own 1099 Tax Info .
Once done, you can give your contractors online access to 1099s. This way, they won’t have to wait for the printed copy. You can follow the outlined steps on this article: E-file through the 1099 E-File Service for QBOP.
This will get you going, @irivera8960. Feel free to add a comment below if I can be of further assistance. I'm always here to help. Take care!
