I resell clothing, right now there is not a category for merchandise or items purchased. currently I have it under un-categorized. What do I categorize those transactions

I'm here to provide you some information about categorizing these transactions.

 

As of now, the inventory and cost of goods sold are unavailable in QuickBooks Self-Employed. You can leave those as it is since you purchase products at wholesale prices then sells the products at retail prices directly to your customer. We'll have to record only the sales(income) for the sold products.
 

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Transaction menu.
  2. Select Add Transaction.
  3. Enter the amount and a brief description.
  4. Browse the Select a category menu, then choose Income.
  5. If you have a receipt, you can drag and drop it onto the form.
  6. Hit Save to complete the process.
