It’s great to see you today, Mark of All Trades.

Welcome to the Online Community. For QuickBooks to calculate the taxes, make sure to turn on the Sales Tax option and customers’ addresses are entered on their profile.

  1. Go to Taxes on the left panel and choose Sales Tax to access the Tax Center.

  2. If you see the Set up sales tax button, click on it to activate the feature.

  3. This will take you to another page where you’ll have to verify the business physical address.

  4. From there, follow the instructions to set up the sales tax.

Once done, open your clients’ profiles and review their information. Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to the Sales menu on the left panel and pick the Customers option.

  2. From the list, click the client you’re working on to access the Edit button.

  3. Once the Customer information page opens, tap the Address tab to review the data entered. If it’s blank, enter the appropriate address.

  4. Click on the Save button to keep the changes.

For an overview of how QuickBooks computes taxes and steps to enter the rates, check out the following article: How do I?

If everything is set up correctly, I recommend contacting Jobber’s Support Team to check the integration between the two programs. This is to ensure taxes are added on the invoices.

Please let me know if you have any other concerns or questions. I want to make sure this is taken care of for you. Have a good one.

I send invoices and collect payments through Jobber. How do I get QBO to calculate my taxes from those invoices?

@Mark of All Trades

We had a client using 3 different apps and integrate them all with Square

1. TaxJar makes sales tax compliance easy. It automatically create your localized, sales tax reports for quick and easy filing.

2. QBO to run your business as usual. Track sales and expenses, pay employees, and more.

3. Jobber to keep your mobile service team organized. Connecting to Square account with Jobber to bring your scheduling, quotes, invoicing and payments together in one system.

Hope it helps.
