I want to add notes to specific estimates or invoices for myself only. Why does Quickbooks force us to add a photo with a note?

I've got some steps we can perform to add notes to your estimates or invoices, davidsavon2012.

It's possible you selected the Attachments option on your sales transactions forcing you to upload a file on it. To add notes without adding a photo, we can add the note as a footer on your invoices or estimates. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Choose Custom Form Styles.
  3. Tick Edit on your invoice or estimate template.
  4. Choose New style or choose the type of transaction you want to customize.
  5. Click on Content.
  6. Tap the Footer part on the sample transaction. Then, enter details on Message to customer on and Add footer text fields
  7. Press Done.

We can also add the notes as a custom field in the sales forms or enter the additional details on the Description column and Message on the invoice field. To add a custom field on your invoices, just follow the steps below:

  1. Open the invoice.
  2. Click the Gear icon.
  3. Tick the Add your own field link.
  4. Enter the details in the custom field.

To learn more about this one. see Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online article. Feel free to visit our Sales and customers page for more insights about managing your company's income and customers.

I hope that this response finds you with a smile. Keep me posted if you need a hand with running your financial reports or any QuickBooks Online related. I'm always here to ensure your success.
