Hi h8pepc. Currently, there's no way to directly transfer data from one QBO account to another. However, you could export the customer list from within the original QBO file and import that to the new account. Here's how to export and then upload the data.

To export the data:

  1. On your QuickBooks account, go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select which data you'd like to export.
  3. Click on the Export to Excel button.

To import the data:

  1. Log in to the new account, then click on the Gear icon at the upper right.
  2. Under Tools, choose Import Data.
  3. Select the type of data that you'd like to import.
  4. Click Browse to select a file to be imported.
  5. Click on the Next button until finished.

For more information about importing or exporting data, you can check out these articles:

After that, the lists you select will be imported into the new account. Currently, there's no way to select which customer are and aren't exported. If you need anything else, just leave a reply below and I'll be happy to help.

As another option, open a new QBO account

Then utilize the trial period of 3rd party tool to migrate the data.

I have the same question, but for QBES Desktop. I currently have 3 stores under one warehouse. I want to separate one of the stores and add its own warehouse. I also will need to transfer some, but not all of my customers. Is this possible? If so what are the steps to do so?

It seems you are using QBES Silver, Gold, or older year version. You may have 3 options:

1. Upgrade to QBES Platinum

2. Use current QBES + an inventory management app

3. Downgrade to QBD Premier + an inventory management app.
