I'm having that same issue in QB Desktop. I do my monthly billing in alpha order but am using 2 different invoices. Could that be the reason they aren't printing in alpha order?

The order when printing invoices in QuickBooks Desktop is different, Whoadeb.
You can print invoices in chronological order based on the date. First, you must set the invoice to print it later. Check the screenshot below:
Once done, you can batch print those invoices:

That's exactly how I do it every time and still prints out of order. Very odd.

I don't believe this is the correct answer to the question.
The question is: How do you get the invoice to print out with the line items in the invoice appearing in alphabetical order (in the description column) instead of by date? I have the same issue.
