I can share information about updating the phone number template with your invoices.Currently, you can edit the phone number in the invoice template. However, the option to add a dash is unavailable.

This UNWANTED and IRRITATING change just happened to me with my invoices. I do NOT do anything international, and I want my phone number in the format I CHOOSE on MY INVOICES. They are taking away all of our preferences, and as soon as I have time to pull my plan together and get away from QB, I'm going to. I hate they changes they've made that don't allow me to have my invoice look as I wish it to. This is hardly the first forced change/acceptance I've had to make. My phone number with +1 and then my number squished together is so annyoing to me. It looks like crap, and my invoices look juvenile. I'm thinking they want to run all of us off. QB has been nothing short of a nightmare for me for the last 6+ months.
Well it looks stupid. You would think for the monthly fee we would have more of a say in our invoices. Ridiculous! I mean what county has a phone number like that?
Yes I am not happy. Unfortunately my accountant uses it, so had to move from Peachtree. Very frustrating.

I know how the importance of being able to include dashes within phone numbers in your invoice templates. As such, I'll take note of this as a suggestion to improve your experience with QuickBooks.
In the meantime, I'd suggest creating a custom field specifically for phone numbers. This will allow you to properly format phone numbers with dashers on your invoices. Let me walk you through the process:
For QuickBooks Online Advanced subscriptions, ensure you choose the Text and number option from the Data type dropdown when creating a custom field for phone numbers. Doing so will allow you to properly format the numbers with plus signs and dashes. You can find more details on utilizing custom fields in this article: How to use custom fields in QuickBooks Online.
After setting up the custom phone number field, be sure to uncheck the Phone box within your template settings. This will prevent phone numbers without dashes from displaying on printed invoices and forms. Here are the steps to follow:
Once you've completed the steps, you'll be able to generate and send invoices to your customers with properly formatted phone numbers containing dashes. This is an example of how a printed invoice would appear after following the process outlined above.
Additionally, I recommend sending submit feedback to our development team. They actively review customer suggestions and most likely include them in future updates.
Aside from customizing templates, you also have the ability to incorporate logos onto your sales forms, allowing you to effectively represent your company's branding and unique identity.
