Good day, les_leyb.
I'd like to verify the prompt you mentioned above. Are you referring to the pop-up box that appears when you hover your mouse pointer to the QTY column? Here's a sample screenshot for visual reference:
If you're unable to get this pop-up box, we can do some troubleshooting steps to fix it. Sometimes, unusual behaviors like this might be caused by a corrupted file cache stored in your browser.
To verify any browser-related issues, let's open your QuickBooks Online account on a private browser or incognito. This mode will not save your browsing history.
Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
Open an invoice and try to hover your mouse pointer in the QTY column. If you see the pop-up box, then go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Clearing cache fixes certain problems, like loading or formatting issues on sites.
Once finished, close and re-open your browser to refresh the settings. Alternatively, try using a different supported browser.
I'm also sharing these articles to help manage your inventory items:
Please keep me posted on how things go after trying out the steps above. I'd like to make sure this is resolved for you. Take care and stay safe.
I do get that box when I hover over the quantity. A while ago if you tried to enter for example, 5 items but you only had 3 on hand a pop up would show up that you did have enough stock and asked if you wanted to continue. Maybe that feature was on the desktop version of QB and not QB online? I am ok with hovering over the box but have one employee where the old pop up box method would be much more helpful.
Thank you
Thanks for getting back with the Community, les_leyb.
I can certainly understand how a pop-up asking if you're entering a larger quantity than available inventory could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.
You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.
Here's how:
