Income to be Coded

Hello, I took over an existing property management account. There is currently a separate chart of accounts for each tenant so when income comes in it gets assigned to individual account, but does not show up under the customer.

Invoices were never done before so I entered a few and they got paid the income is showing as “Income to be Coded” and are not attached to the individual account and only staying with the customer.

How do I link the invoices to different accounts or reconcile them after?

Income to be Coded

Nice to have you in the Community space, @LHPOA. I'll go over how we can work around this query with your invoices.

About this matter, you'll want to manually assign different income accounts from your items to link them to your invoices. I'll guide you on how:

  1. From Settings, go to Products and services.
  2. Choose an item and select Edit.
  3. From the Income account dropdown, choose the correct account.
  4. Click Save and close when done.

When you're ready to receive your customer's payments or make a bank deposit, we can choose the correct account from the Deposit To field to post the payments to the accurate accounts. This way, we can reconcile them flawlessly.
