Thank you for responding to my previous request for help.  Although I do not seem to be able to follow your instructions.

"Here's how to do it:

Go to the Employees menu. Choose Enter Time. Then select Use Weekly Timesheet."
We use an outside payroll service and then enter payroll information into the checking account journal as a check payment to the employee.  We do not use the payroll function in QB except to list the employee name.  Can you provide further direction?

I appreciate you for getting back to us here on the Community page, @drhummel-hartleys.

I'm here to help you review the transactions that are showing up on the Insights tab.

As mentioned by Charies_M from this thread, the transactions showing up under the Unbilled section are time and expense marked a billable to customers. I can see that you use journals when entering payroll information to QuickBooks. One possible reason why this happens is when there's a check-mark on the Billable column.

If not, you can open a timesheet report to check if there are any billable time and expenses recorded from your file.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu, then enter timesheet from the search field.
  2. Look for Timesheet Report, then click it to open.
  3. Filter the date and check the details from there.
  4. If needed, make the necessary changes.

You can also read this article for additional references while customizing reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

As you continue working with QuickBooks, you can also open our help articles in case you need related resources in the future.

Get back to me if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help. Have a good day!

How do we get rid of the insights tab?

Thanks for checking out the Community space, tastehgrc.

I'm here to share some information about the Insights tab.

We're unable to get rid of this tab since it's is an additional feature on the Home page. We added this tab to provide easy-to-read charts that show quick snapshots of your company’s operations. It's is similar to the Dashboard menu in QuickBooks Online.

All of the graphical elements that appear on this page have full drill-down capabilities so you can see the specific details behind the values. You can also customize the data that you want to see. These are the following snippets of information that can be turned on and off via the Gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen:

  • Profit & Loss
  • Previous Year Income Comparison
  • Top Customers by Sales
  • Income and Expense Trend
  • Business Growth
  • Net Profit Margin
  • Previous Year Expense Comparison

If you need some reference in accomplishing your other tasks, I encourage checking our Help articles page. From there, you can read great articles and guides that will help you through the steps by steps process.

Do you have any other questions in mind? Just leave them below and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
