Hi, using QB Online on my iPad Air, suddenly having "Upload failed" errors when attaching pdf files to my invoices, this has always worked flawlessly, so not sure why the sudden issues, anyone seen this? Tried attaching different pdf files, always same result, restarted the software, the device, out of ideas, thanks in advance.

Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community, John Knight! To better assist you here, could you share if you are using the mobile site or the app? Also, I would like for you to test something for me. Can you attach an image instead of a PDF and let me know if you receive the same error message?

I would appreciate it a lot! I will be here looking out for your response as well. You can do this by selecting the Reply button below. Take care for now!

Hi, thanks for getting back to me, this is via the app on my ipad.

If I attach an image, it works fine, then try and also attach a pdf aswell as the image, and it fails.

Hello there, @John Knight. Thanks for getting back to us.

I appreciate all the effort you exhaust to attach the PDF file to your invoices.

I've checked here on my end and found that there's an ongoing issue about getting the error and not being able to attach PDFs to invoices using iPad. However, only the UK region is impacted in this investigation. If you're currently using the QuickBooks UK version, I'd recommend contacting our specialist. This way, you'll be added to the list of affected users.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help icon in the top right-hand corner.
  2. Press the Contact Us button.
  3. Give a brief description and hit Let's talk
  4. Choose how you want to connect with them.

When you're connected with a representative, please provide this investigation number INV-63630 as they already know what to do.

For now, we recommend using a desktop browser, or convert the PDF's into JPEG's first and then upload them on the App.

Supported browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox. Note: To preview and print forms on Mac OS, you'll also need the Firefox PDF plugin.
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari 11 or newer (Mac only)

You'll want to check this article to get more ideas and tips adding an attachment to any transactions: Attachments in QuickBooks Online.

Know that you can always go back here if you have follow-up questions. The Community is always here to assist you. Stay safe always, John Knight.
