I'm happy to explain why you have an amount for Other Expenses, Eldwenne.
You'll see an accumulated amount for Other Expenses if you used it in your transactions. Instead of going to the Transactions, you can simply click the amount to see the list of transactions that accumulate in that category. Then, recategorize them from there.
On the other hand, if you want to find some references for QuickBooks Self-Employed, simply click the Topics menu above and select a topic or click View all help.

I don't understand though -- why are all of these expense categories such as "apps/software/web services" and "memberships/subscriptions" even available to us if they're going to be lumped into "other business expenses" on a profit & loss sheet? It's just creating a headache for me and my accountant now.
