Is anyone familiar with classes? I have some set up but would like to merge a couple of them. Is this possible? You assign classes to transactions to track/breakdown

In QuickBooks, you can create classes that you assign to transactions. This lets you track account balances by department, business office or location, separate properties you own, or any other meaningful breakdown of your business

Merging classes in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is possible and it's easy to do, @Marla11.

You can merge a couple of classes by editing the class name and make it identical to the one you want to remain. By doing this, QuickBooks will combine the information and transactions that are classified into these classes. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select All lists.
  2. Choose Classes from the list.
  3. On the page, select the class you want to merge and click Edit from the drop-down under the Action column.1.PNG
  4. Change the class name to the one you want to remain. Then, click Save.2.PNG
  5. Click Yes to the prompt to confirm the merge.             3.PNG
  6. Follow the same steps for the rest of the classes you want to merge.

I'm adding this article to learn how to manage your classes: Create and manage classes in QuickBooks Online.

We're always here to listen if you have concerns regarding other features in QBO. You're welcome to post again or leave a reply below.
