I've checked our records for similar reports with regards to item/category details that aren't showing when creating transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO). However, there are no open investigations we can link to it yet.
Although, we can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to address this issue. Sometimes stored cached and site data in a browser can cause unexpected behavior with the product.
We can start by opening a private window and use it to access your account in QBO. This doesn't save your site data and visited pages. Simply press the following shortcut keys:
If you're able to see the category/item details again, we'll have to go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. If you still encounter the same issue, we can use other supported browsers for the meantime so that you can get back to work.
Let me also provide you a link to check if your browser is compatible with QuickBooks: Fixit.intuit.com.
Additionally, you can run either of the following reports to view your transactions (income and expenses), grouped by customer or vendor in QBO.
Just go to Reports search for Transaction List by Vendor or Transaction List by Customer report.
Let me know how it goes in the comment section. If you need additional assistance in doing your task with QBO, don't hesitate to visit us back. We'll be happy to help.
I am having the same problem. It has only recently manifested itself. When I open PO's I created a a month ago, all of the Item Detail lines appear as normal. When I open a PO that was created more recently, I see the header of the Item Details list (with a down arrow to the left of the words "Item details" which indicates the list should be displayed), however, there are no lines displayed. Below the table header I can see two buttons. If I click the button that says "Add lines", then suddenly all the lines on that table appear.
I always open QBO in a Google incognito window so the cache is not the issue. While pressing the "Add lines" button is a work around, I too would appreciate a fix for this problem so that the full estimate appears upon opening the PO.
Thank you for posting here in the Community, @Tracey12.
I appreciate you for providing details about your concern. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to determine if this is browser-specific issue. First, open your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account on a different browser. Please refer to the steps provided by my colleague, ReymondO.
However, if the same thing happens, I suggest contacting our QBO Care team. They will verify what causes the odd behavior of the software and will generate steps to fix it for you.
