Is it possible to use the Android app to enter a bill that I haven't paid yet?

If so, I haven't been able to find it. Both Expenses and Vendors assume that I'm entering a bill I've already paid.

Is it possible to use the Android app to enter a bill that I haven't paid yet?

Hi there, @BearGFR. I'm here to ensure you'll be able to add unpaid bills on your QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app.

Yes it is. To do so, you simply need to select the Bill pay menu and go to the Unpaid tab. Here's how:

  1. In your QBO Android app, select the Menu icon and click All.
  2. From there, select Bill pay and go to the Unpaid tab.
  3. Next, click the Plus sign.
  4. Enter the needed information of the bill and select Save and close.

For more details about the process, read this article: Enter and manage bills and bill payments in QuickBooks Online.

I'll include this helpful resource that you can use as a guide in paying your vendor bills: Record payments towards bills.

I'm always here ready to provide additional help if you have any other concerns entering bills in QuickBooks. Please don't hesitate to add a reply below. Have a good one and stay safe.

Is it possible to use the Android app to enter a bill that I haven't paid yet?

Good morning, @BearGFR

I appreciate you coming back and giving us a screenshot of how your mobile app looks from your end.

Since you're unable to see the Bill Pay option, I'll need to gather some more information from you:

  • Do you have Online Bill Pay? If not, this option is meant to work with the Online Bill Pay service and this may be why you don't have it listed in your mobile app.
  • Are you logging into the mobile app as the master admin of the account?

In the meantime, you can check out this guide that could help you in the future: Pay and manage bills with the QuickBooks Online mobile app

These details will help us determine the best solution for your business. I look forward to chatting with you again!

Are you telling me that I can't use the Android app to enter a bill from a vendor that is in unpaid status?  Then please explain to me why I've been entering bills that way for years as long as I use a computer and web browser to access my QBO account online?  Also, your brain dead software won't let me respond to this chat unless I access it through my phone. If I try to use a computer and open the link in the email and then enter reply, even after I've signed in, I get this:

Thanks for the prompt reply, @BearGFR. Allow me to chime in and help you access your Bill Pay using the mobile app and fix the Authentication that failed while accessing the Community page.

As mentioned by Candice C, you'll need the Online Bill Pay feature to access the Bill Pay option in QuickBooks mobile app. Having this feature will make payments easier right from within QuickBooks Online.

In case you want to sign up, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to QuickBooks Online, go to the Online Bill Pay Learn More pagethen select Get Started.
  2. Enter your company information, then select Next.
  3. Follow the prompts to connect your bank account. (For more information: Online Bill Pay - Add a new bank account.)
  4. Select Next.
  5. Enter your personal information, then select Next.
  6. Answer a few identities check questions.

For complete details, see this article: Sign up for Online Bill Pay.

Also, for the error message you get when accessing your account in the Community, I'd suggest logging out and logging back in. This is to ensure that you can access the page seamlessly.

Additionally, I'll be adding these links that will help you manage your bills and how the Online Bill Pay feature will work in QuickBooks:

I'm just a post-away if there's anything that I can help with. Have a good one and take care.

Is it possible to use the Android app to enter a bill that I haven't paid yet?

I find it interesting that people keep ignoring my question of why can I intro bills via QuickBooks online via computer and browser but cannot from Android?

Do you really think it makes sense for the behavior to be different based solely on which interface I'm using to access my account?

And as far as logging out and back in to try to reply to this thread from a computer, I have done that- multiple times- and it still doesn't work.

Hello there, @BearGFR.

Let's send feedback or product recommendations to help improve the features and your experience using QuickBooks Online (QBO) via computer browser and mobile app.

I can see how the benefit of being able to enter bills via the QuickBooks mobile app (without the Online Bill Pay feature) would aid you in managing your expense transactions. With this, I would encourage you to send suggestions or product recommendations. We'll take them as opportunities to improve the various features of our products.

Here's how you can do this on a web browser:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Type in your recommendation in the Share your feedback field.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

On top of that, I'd also recommend visiting this page to keep you updated with the latest software improvements and enhancements with QBO: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, you may have a browser cache-related issue. That's why you encounter an error message while accessing your QuickBooks Community account. To fix this, you can perform some troubleshooting steps.

You can start by pulling up your QuickBooks Community account using a private browser (incognito). Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox)
  • Control Option (Safari)

Then if you're able to log in, return to your default browser and clear its cache. This will refresh the system and remove older data that causes viewing and performance issues. However, if this matter continues, I'd recommend using other supported browsers.

Also, you may want to check out one of our articles as your guide on which QuickBooks mobile app features are supported on mobile devices, and our Help page for managing your expenses and suppliers in QBO:

Please feel free to leave a comment below if you have other feature concerns or questions about managing expense transactions in QBO. I'm always ready to help. Take care, @BearGFR.

Is it possible to use the Android app to enter a bill that I haven't paid yet?

Seriously?  You consider providing a consistent experience when accessing the QBO service from multiple different platforms to be a 'suggested feature'?

As far as the other problem, I've done all that - multiple times - clearing cookies, clearing cache, logging out/in.

Which part of "it does not work" do you not understand?

This experience has confirmed for me the "value" of this forum along with how much the vendor cares about their users.

Seriously?  You consider providing your users a consistent QBO experience regardless of which platform they use to access your service a "suggestible feature?"

Yeah, I know how that process works.  It exists solely to make the gullible think you might actually work on a problem.
