It is Fraud Prevention. It is to prevent anyone changing it to $511,000.00, for example. It is "filler."

@tina PLEASE stop using all Caps. You don't want to delete them; they are part of Fraud Prevention.

Well you do need to delete them if your bank account is enrolled in payee positive pay.  Our checks will not pass the payee positive pay test with those asteriks.
