Is there a way to modify the customer statements to make the columns wider, or to remove a column that I don't want?
We use these statements for our donors to give a yearly receipt. I don't need the "Total" and "Received" column as they are the same, and would like to remove one of the. I would also like to make the "Date" column narrower and the "Activity" column wider. Thanks.

Though you can create A/R statements in QuickBooks, it won't create proper donor statements with the required text - ready to mail or email. Instead, use the BRC Donor Statements - QB Online , which will read your QB data and create the statements without any additional data entry.
