Job estimate vs actual report

When I run the Job Estimate vs. Actual Detail. The estimated cost is now showing, only the actual cost is showing. I need to know why and how to fix this.

Job estimate vs actual report

I know how to fix this display or data issue in the Job Estimate vs. Actual Detail report, BentPine. I'll discuss the details below.

To start, are you referring to the Est. Cost column not showing in the Job Estimate vs. Actual Detail report? If so, you'll have to enable it in the Display tab during customization.

Furthermore, you'll also need to make sure the items associated with your transactions have the amount indicated in the Sales price field so there'll be data under the Est. Cost column.

However, if you're referring to the data in the said report, I recommend running the Verify and Rebuild Data tool to automatically fix any problems with your company file. To do this, here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Select Utilities, then choose Rebuild Data.
  3. On the QuickBooks Information window, select OK. Follow the onscreen steps to save a backup.
  4. Let the tool repair your file. It may take some time.
  5. When the tool finishes, select OK.
  6. Go to the File menu.
  7. Select Utilities, then choose Verify Data.
  8. Let the tool check your file for data issues.

Job estimate vs actual report

I figured out the problem, my estimate was entered under the client and NOT the job. Once I fixed this my reports worked.
