Job Profitability Report w/Details for QB Online

I'd be glad to help you see the products/services with the costs and revenue displayed in QuickBooks Online (QBO), kmouris.

First off, let's run the Project Profitability report and modify to view the details needed. Here's how:

1. Go to Projects on the left pane.
2. Double-click the project name.
3. Under Project reports, select Project Profitability.
4. Click Customize.
5. Filter the Display columns by Products/Services.
6. Once done, click on Run report.

You can display its Column by Products and Services, where Income is the Revenue and Expenses are under Cost.

Is there any way to change the layout of this report? The version from QuickBooks Desktop had the services/products as rows versus columns. It was a lot easier to read by scrolling down.

I understand how beneficial changing the layout of the report would be for you and your business. However, at this time, there isn't a way to modify the layout of the report. You can sort the report from ascending order to descending order and edit the titles.

I've been playing around with this report for a couple of months now and it just doesn't provide the data like the Job Profitability report from QB Desktop does. Currently I'm running both online and desktop parallel for the sole purpose of the Job Profitability report and being able to see all my products/services laid out. The work around for the Project Profitability report just gives me a ton of columns (versus rows) that's difficult to navigate. I feel limited in my reporting ability and cannot fully switch to Quickbooks online due to it. I really don't want to have to switch to another product, but that report is crucial to our day-to-day operations.
