last transaction per customer

I am wishing to generate a report to see when the last transaction was per customer.  I have tried many different reports, but I only need one date per customer, and cannot do it in a date range as some of them go back  over a year (some clients I only see once a year).  Basically I want to know who I need to call to remind them to book appointments, who is overdue for appointments, and who I should make inactive.

Hi there, Pawsitivity. 


For now, we don't have a specific report that will tell us when was the last time a transaction was created for all customers. Although, there's a workaround on how to check when the last invoice or sales receipt was made. Here's how:


  1. Go to the customer's profile in the Customer Center
  2. Right-click on the name of the customer and select QuickReport.
  3. Change the Dates filter to ALL.
  4. Scroll-down to the very bottom to see the last transaction. 

Then, follow the same steps for the rest of the customers.


You might also be interested in using a third-party customer management app that can be integrated in QuickBooks. You can visit the Intuit Marketplace for more details.

Thank you for your reply.  I was hoping to be able to get a report for all clients as I have a excel spreadsheet that I utilize to know when to put reminders into my calendar.  Much easier than trying to count days, weeks or months.  I will continue with my current reporting system (transaction list by customer) which is not overly efficient, but better than it used to be.
