You can create multiple bank accounts in QBO to mirror where the actual transactions are posted, tiztriickz.
Then, import a CSV file of your banking transactions into the respective accounts. Here's how:
- Go to your bank or credit card’s website and log in to your account.
- Every financial institution has different steps. Follow their instructions on how to download the transactions to your computer. Some banks call this WebConnect. Here are steps for Bank of America, Chase, and Wells Fargo.
- Save the file somewhere you can easily find it, like your desktop.
One you have the file saved in your computer, follow these steps on how to import it:
- Go to the Banking or Transactions menu and select Banking.
- Click Upload transactions manually. You can also begin your upload from the Import Data page (Go to Settings ⚙, look for Import Data, and then select Bank Data).
- Select Browse and choose the file you downloaded from your bank.
- Click Open, then select Next.
- From the QuickBooks Account drop-down list, select the bank account, and then click Next.
- Select a Date, date format, Description, and Amount. Note: You can choose 1 column or 2 columns.
- Click Next, then select the check boxes of the transactions that you want to import, and then select Next.
- Select Yes.
- Select Let's go! when the Import completed notification appears.
