Lost invoice lines on invoices

Thanks for bringing this invoicing concern to my attention, @barbara-gregory.

You can try accessing a sample company file or other invoices.  Also, we can perform verify and rebuild data to isolate this for possible data damage.

Here's how:

  • Verify your data
    1. Under Quickbooks File menu, select Utilities.
    2. Choose Verify Data.
    3. Select OK if there are no problems detected.
    4. If Verify finds an issue with your data, you will be prompted to Rebuild Now or View Errors.
    5. Click Rebuild Now.
  • Rebuild your data
    1. Go to the File menu.
    2. Select Utilities.
    3. Choose Rebuild Data.
    4. Click on OK.
    5. Follow the prompts to save a backup. Note that if your cursor is still moving despite the prompt “QuickBooks is not responding”, the rebuild is still ongoing.
    6. Select OK when you see Rebuild has completed.

Once completed, you can now recreate the invoice that has a missing line item. You can read this article for more detailed steps: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

Keep in touch if you have other questions about managing your invoices. Thanks for dropping by.

Lost invoice lines on invoices

I am having a similar situation.  I use QB POS and Desktop, when I receive inventory and a receiving voucher is created on the POS and then financial exchange is done to send over the date and create a bill.  The bill is loosing information, such as the vendor, the first item will be in the memo line and the next item could possibly by in expenses and in uncategorized income.  I can resend the vouchers and they seem to have the correct information, then i go back and delete the bill that was incorrect, some of them will not let me delete it causes it causes quickbooks to shut down.

Hi @KHRabon,

I can suggest the same troubleshooting steps shared by my colleague @juVielL above.

In case you missed it, you can run the Verify and Rebuild Data tools to ensure you don't have data damage on your company file.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Highlight Utilities.
  3. Select Verify Data.

Right after, run the Rebuild Data tool. Follow these steps:

  1. Click the File menu.
  2. Select Utilities.
  3. Choose Rebuild Data.

See this article for additional information for these tools: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop

In case you already went through the same steps, then I suggest you contact our Technical Support team for further assistance. They can investigate why you have this issue, and provide a resolution for it.
