How do you delete multiple memorized reports? I have about 10 years of reports my predecessor memorized that I don't have time to CTRL-D every single one.
Solved! Go to Solution.
@dawnaclark RE: Thanks, that option will take forever. Like I said, there are literally 10 years of useless memorized reports. Where are the memorized reports stored, in other words, is there a folder on my computer that contains these reports?
Holding down the Ctrl-D keys while on the Memorized Reports list will rapid-fire delete the reports from the Memorized Reports list. You can delete about 300 a minute this way. (To avoid the "are you sure" popup message from appearing, turn it off: At Edit | Preferences | General | My Preferences, uncheck the option, "Warn when deleting a transaction or unused list item".)
The memorized reports are stored inside of your *.QBW file with your other data. There is no place in your file system to go to delete them.
Glad to see you here, @dawnaclark,
We want to help you remove your saved reports in QuickBooks Desktop. At the moment, the option to delete multiple memorized reports is still unavailable.
You will need to delete them individually using the steps below:
Having the option to delete batch reports from the Memorized Report List is a great idea. We want your voice to be heard and be put in action. If you have any product suggestions to our developers about our report preferences, go to the Help menu and select Send Feedback Online.
Please note that I am here if you have any other concerns about QuickBooks reports or need further assistance with anything in the program. Just mention me anytime to notify me. Have a nice day!
Thanks, that option will take forever. Like I said, there are literally 10 years of useless memorized reports. Where are the memorized reports stored, in other words, is there a folder on my computer that contains these reports? Maybe I can delete them from there.

Hello there, @dawnaclark.
Currently, the only way to delete a memorized report is to delete them individually. You can follow the steps given above on how to do so.
While we continue to develop new features in QuickBooks that can help you save time, I'd recommend you regularly check our QuickBooks Blog for the latest feature available in QuickBooks Desktop.

I followed the steps, but it didn't work. I right click on the memorized report list, nothing came out. Could you let me know the reason? Thanks. same as clicking on other reports.

I'll help you delete your memorized reports in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Based on the steps that you've taken, right-clicking the Memorized Report List won't show anything. This is actually right, the system won't give you the list of reports by pressing right-click.
What we need to do is to left-click the Memorized Report List to view its list. Then, you can now right-click the report and choose Delete Memorized Report. Once prompted, you can click OK to confirm.

This doesn't work either. Shouldn't be this hard to delete a report. We have a couple users - do you have to be in single user mode to delete?
Thanks for joining this thread, @Mophetmom. I'm here to give additional steps to help you delete a memorized report.
Since you're having trouble deleting a memorize report, let's perform some steps to isolate the issue. To begin, let's first ensure that your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) program is updated to the latest release. This keeps your system up to date with components that fix common problems.
Once done, close and reopen your QBDT program and attempt to delete the memorized report again. Here's how:
To get more information about the process, you can open this link: Create, access and modify memorized reports. Steps for editing a memorized report are also included.
If you still can't delete the report, follow the steps in this article to resolve any possible data issues in your company file: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.

You can count on me if you ever need additional help with deleting a memorized report in QBDT. I got your back. Keep safe always.
I've read comments on how to delete, right click on the report or CTL D, neither one works when I do that to clear out old reports, that were done in error or don't need anymore. Thanks
Thanks for joining the thread, @SVRotary1.
There might be a minor data issue in your company file that's causing this behavior. This is why you're unable to delete the memorized reports in QuickBooks.
Let's try some basic troubleshooting steps to help address the issue and complete your task. To start, update QuickBooks Desktop to its latest release. This will keep the software up to date and have the latest features and fixes.
Here's how:
After updating, try to delete the memorized reports again. If the issue persists, run the Verify and Rebuild Data tools. This way, we can identify the cause of the problem and fix it.
If you're still getting the same result, contact our QuickBooks Desktop Customer Support. They can help you diagnose the issue and resolve the unexpected behavior.
I'm also including this article that covers basic information about reports in QBDT: Understanding Reports in QuickBooks.
I’ll be around to help you if you need further assistance managing your reports or with your QuickBooks. It’s always my pleasure to assist and ensure you’re in working order. Have a good one and stay safe.
I did updates, and verified files, all is good, but right click or CTL D on a report does not pull up a pop up to confirm the delete. Saying Popup made me think, maybe having that blocked could be why I'm not getting that, but releasing that didn't help. I'm not a guru with the computer, so I really am uncomfortable going through all these procedures to delete reports...seems like it should be easy, but obviously not. Thanks for helping though. Elsie
I wish I could make it better, @SVRotary1.
Commonly, when updating QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release and rebuilding/verifying files helps fix issues. I know your time is valuable and it will be my pleasure to help your further. Since it persists, I recommend using the QuickBooks File Doctor. This tool scans your company file for issues and fixes them right away. Let me show you how:
If it doesn't work, I suggest contacting our Care Support team to investigate this further. Using their tools, they'll be able to assist and check what's causing this hurdle and resolve the issue further.

I just want to know all the guys answering the question did you use the QB desktop ?
I used QB 2013 and QB 2021, the there is nothing happen when you right-click the selected memorized report name.
I searched a lot, all the answers are same as you guys answered. As matter of fact, there is nothing response when right-click the selected memorized report name, and neither drop-down list shown up beside the selected report name.
Please don't answer the questions before you actually use the QB desktop. Please don't waste yours and other's time.

It sounds like you're using the Report Center on the Memorized tab. If so, that's why it doesn't work.
Instead, open the Memorized Reports list from the Reports menu. From there it will work. Pick Reports | Memorized Reports | Memorized Reports List:

What QB desktop version did you use ? In my QB premier 2021 version, there is no such menu as you posted.
Here is my:
Please respect your and other's time, please don't post any answer before you try in your owner QB desktop version.

Any version will do. They're all the same. The Memorized Report list access point is pictured in your screenshot, as described:
Side comment: Do you like that font? Did you change it on purpose? It looks horrible in you screenshot. It seems very hard to read. This seems better, which is how QuickBooks seems to look on all my systems (along with the rest of my applications):
Yes. I can can access the memorized reports. BUT, I Can NOT delete the selected memorized report !
Please Do NOT reply before you try it and understanding what the question is.
Hello, Sinoquebec.
It's possible that there's an issue with the system that's causing this behavior. We can perform some basic troubleshooting steps in QuickBooks Desktop to fix this.
Let's start by updating QBDT to its latest release. Doing this will fix minor issues in QuickBooks. Just follow these steps:
Once finished, let's go ahead and delete again the memorized report.
Here's what you'll need to do:

PERFECT solution, @BigRedConsulting! Thank you for the tip on taking off the warning as well.
I just got your answer, but a while back I kept playing around with it and found where and how to delete those reports, all is good now. Easier to find what I need without all the clutter. Old ones are on a back up if they are ever needed, but no ones can be generated.
Thanks for getting back with the Community, SVRotary1.

There is nothing about the updates. I have done many times updates and I keep the auto-update open. But the problem ( can not delete memorized report ) has been being there to me since QB desktop version 2013.
To try the fortune, I have updated QB one more time after seeing your answer. BUT, the problem is still there. Crtl+D to the selected memorized report, nothing response. nothing !
Last week, the Intuit Canada technician tole me the error code (#15240 ) is about Payroll, due to I did not subscribe the Payroll service.
Did you try to delete the memorized report in QB desktop version before you keyed in the answer today ?

What problem is that? As far as I can tell from your previous posts, there is no problem.
Your previous answer indicates you were not using the Memorized Reports List to try to delete reports, but instead the Reports Center, which doesn't include the ability to delete reports and never has.
If you open the Memorized Reports list, you can delete reports there.
