Memorized Transactions in QBO?

In desktop we used memorized transactions for rent, etc. Is there anything like that in QBO?

Memorized Transactions in QBO?

I'd be glad to jump in and help with your question about memorized transactions, Norm S.

Rustler is correct, the same feature is called recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online. This feature is currently offered in the QBO Plus and Advanced versions.

Let me share the steps the steps on how to use the feature in QBO:

  1. Go to the Gear or Settings icon. and select Recurring transactions.
  2. Click New and select the type of transaction to create.
  3. Select OK and enter a Template name.
  4. Choose a Type: Scheduled, Unscheduled, or Reminder.
  5. Complete the remaining fields, then click Save template.

Additional information on how to use this feature are thoroughly discussed in these articles :

Memorized Transactions in QBO?

I am current Quickbooks Desktop user. QB Online has some features I would like but when I tried it several years ago it Online was not able to import my Memorized Transactions. These are all monthly invoices.

Is this still the case that in order to use the Recurring Transaction feature in online you have to manually recreate these one by one ?

Memorized Transactions in QBO?

Welcome aboard to the Community, FrankB1.

I can share some insights about importing memorized transactions into QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Recurring transactions cannot be imported into QBO. Instead, you'll want to create a new recurring template. I'll show you the steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Recurring transactions.
  3. Click New to create a new template or select Edit under the ACTION Column to edit the template.
  4. Add additional details to the recurring invoice.
  5. Then click the Save template bottom when done.

You can also refer to this article for more details about the recurring templates: Create recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Memorized Transactions in QBO?

We have almost 1,000 recurring transactions in QB desktop enterprise.  As the reply above was from 2022, are the recurring transactions still not importable into QBO?  This would take us weeks of work to re-create.

Memorized Transactions in QBO?

I can see that you need to import multiple recurring transactions to QuickBooks Online, @Jen. Nonetheless, this action isn't possible due to the distinction in functionality and interface between the QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online, and the only way to make it possible is by entering it at a time within QBO.

As a workaround, we can utilize a third-party application and look for an importer tool from this link: QBO App Center. Through this, you can expand QuickBooks capabilities which can work together to streamline your business finances.

We can directly find them in the Search bar, enter the keyword or navigate to the left pane in the Categories section.
