On my P&L report I have collapsed some account headings and not others. Then I memorize the report. When I ran the report from the memorization list, the accounts were no longer collapsed. The report was in expanded form. How do I memorize a partially collapsed report???????
I've attached a copy of the partially collapsed pdf.
Thank you!
Thanks for the attachment, marger.
QuickBooks will only save the customization made in the Customize Report section. You will need to collapse the accounts again when opening the memorized report.
We'd like to hear thoughts about saving the collapsed accounts in memorized reports. You can send a feature request directly to our engineers by clicking the Help menu and select Send Feedback Online.
The Community is always here if you have other questions. Thanks for dropping by.
Having the same issue. Would like to save the reports with certain lines collapsed and then allow a manager to access an updated report already formatted.
Thanks for joining us here, 4mul8r.
This option is still not available in Quickbooks. For now, you and the manager will need to customize and collapse the columns when opening the memorized report.
Please send your request about saving collapsed columns when memorizing reports. Follow the steps in my previous reply on how to send a feature request.
The more request we receive about a specific feature, the more likely it will get implemented on future updates. Let me know if you need anything else.
Just to make sure you are not thinking that clicking the triangles is "Collapsing", it is not. You have to be another level deeper in assigning your accounts to parent accounts for collapsing to work. You then CAN Save the collapsed mode. I thought that the triangles were there to show whats collapsed but that's not the case at all. You cannot tell when something is collapsed by looking at a FS, there is no indicator. the accounts below are just summarized to the top number.
Hi. I'm not sure what you mean. Clicking on the triangles does role the numbers into the number above it. But as Quickbooks has told me they don't have that capability yet to memorize those functions.
I'm not sure what you mean, clicking on a triangle pointing down next to a parent account on a report that is fully expanded does roll the numbers related to the sub-accounts under it , into it. That's what I call collapsing. If there is another way to do it, please let me know! Thanks!
Hi there, marger.
Yes, you're right, clicking on a triangle pointing down next to a parent account on a report that's called collapsing.
As mentioned by my colleague above, the ability to save the collapsed columns when opening the memorized report is still not available in Quickbooks Desktop (QBDT). For now, you need to manually click that option to collapse the columns when opening the report as a workaround.
I'll do take note of this option in saving collapsed columns when opening the memorized report and pass along to our product developers. QuickBooks is constantly changing and evolving based largely on the suggestions and requests of users, like yourself.
Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns. Wishing you and your business continued success.
