Moving contractor payments to accrual basis

Hello,

I have a client that is accrual basis but we've recently realized that his contractors are cash basis.  He would like to move January to December, February to January and so on.  What are the accounts to hit to make these changes?

Moving contractor payments to accrual basis

Thanks for visiting the Community today, @ndl2485

You don't need an account when switching contractors from cash to accrual accounting methods. You'll want to change the accounting method from your settings to reflect an accrual basis with these steps below:

  1. Choose Account and Settings from the Gear icon, then go to the Advanced tab.
  2. Select the Pencil icon in the Accounting section, then choose Accrual in the Accounting method drop-down.
  3. Click Save, then Done.

We can do that going forward but we need to make the adjustments for prior months.
