My journal entries are being automatically duplicated! How do I stop this? I dont have it set up to recur.

Good day, @1slvrfx.

 

I'm here to help you investigate why your Journal Entries (JE) create automatic duplicates in QuickBooks Online. 

 

One possible reason for duplicates JE is having recurring transaction entries. There's a possibility that other users accidentally create a template. To check the setting, please follow the steps below. 

 

  1. Click the Gear icon on the right side.
  2. Choose Recurring transactions under Lists
  3. Review the TXN Type column if there's a Journal Entries
  4. Hit the small drop-down arrow beside Edit, then tap Delete or Pause

You may also review your Audit log to check your business activities. Let me guide you how: 

 

  1. Go to Settings, then click Audit Log
  2. Hit Filter drop-down and choose All users in the box. 
  3. Set a date in the field.
  4. Pick Show only these events, then check the Recurring templates
  5. Hit Apply

  1. Go to the Help menu, then click Contact Us
  2. Type your concern in the box and tap Let's talk
  3. Choose either Get a call or Start a chat
  4. Complete the required data and submit the request.

I don't have recurring transactions set.  How do I talk to a human or get a call back?  the chat feature doesn't seem to be working...

This may be a browser-related issue. In this case, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this. Let's log in to your account using a private browser. This mode will not save any history, making it a great place to identify browser issues.

 

You can use these shortcut keys listed below:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N  
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

 

Then, get a callback request or chat option in the Help icon. If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache. This helps delete stored site data and improve the system performance. Also, you can use other supported browsers. It could be that the one you're currently working on has a temporary problem with QuickBooks.
