New departments created. How can we update the existing budget in QBO?

We have an existing budget plan for 2023 in QBO. However, we created 2 new departments due to re-org. Is there a way to include/add budget for those 2 new departments in our existing budget plan for 2023?

Yes, you can edit or update your budgets in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @SuperAcc.

 

QuickBooks provides an option for the user to edit their budget to lessen time when making changes to it. With that, here are the steps you can follow to be guided:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Budgeting.
  2. From the Budget window, locate the one you want to make changes.
  3. Drill down the arrow under the Action column.
  4. Select the View/Edit to start.
  5. Once you’re done, click Save or Save and close.

 

Additionally, you can refer to this article when managing them to set this according to your preference. You can either edit, delete, or run budget reports to keep track of your budget goals: Create budgets in QuickBooks Online.

 

On the other hand, you can assign classes to it to represent meaningful segments in your company: Set budget targets for each class in QuickBooks Online.
