Point of Sale Report

I need to run a report in Point of Sale to reflect total inventory detail transactions based on a particular vendor.  I want total history of item by a specified vendor.

      vendor   received date   qty

      customer    sold date   qty

basically want to list any transactions on each item# even to include any adjustments to inventory

Point of Sale Report

Good day to you, @kittybruns.

Allow me to guide you on how to generate a report to show the data that matters to you.

You can run the Purchase by Vendor Detail report and customize it to your preferred vendor. Then export the report to Excel and add a column for Customer, Sold date, and Qty.

Once done, run the Sales by Item Detail report for reference. Then customize it to show your preferred customer and the paid date. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Select Purchases.
  3. Click Purchases by Vendor Detail.
  4. Select the Customize Report button from the top part of the report.
  5. Type in and select Deliv Date from the COLUMNS field under the Display tab. 2.JPG
  6. Go to the Filters tab.
  7. Type in the vendor from the filter field, select Preferred Vendor, and choose a vendor from the drop-down menu. 3.JPG
  8. Then click OK.

Here's an example of what the report should look. 4.JPG

You can also read through this article for more details about customizing reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Once done, export the report to Excel, then run the Sales by Item Detail report for reference:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Select Sales.
  3. Click Sales by Item Detail.
  4. Then customize the report base on your preference.

You might also want to check this link that lets you save the current settings of your customized reports: Create, access and modify memorized reports. This way, you do not have to go through the customization process again.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with running reports in QuickBooks POS. I’d be more than happy to help you. Keep safe!
