Printing checks

I would like to have the check number that is generated by QuickBooks print on the check. We are using a1-up check with stubs and I would like it to show. How can I do this?

QuickBooks will not do this because QuickBooks compatible checks already have the check number printed on them and encoded at the end of the MICR line.

Printing checks

Hi there, @Anonymous,

Welcome and thank you for choosing QuickBooks as your accounting software. I’m here to add some information about printing QuickBooks check numbers.

BRC is correct. We're currently unable to print your check numbers on your transactions. Also, QuickBooks does not have the functionality to print Magnetic Ink Character Resolution (MICR) fonts on checks.

As a workaround, you can use pre-printed checks, so you're able to print the numbers you want to use. You can visit our QuickBooks Checks & Supplies site and see our available pre-printed transactions and styles. You may also want to check our Intuit Marketplace for a third party package designed to print MICR fonts.

I've added here a related article to guide you with your check processing: Create, modify, and print checks
