Printing Issues

Hi,

I am running Desktop Accountant 2022, and I am having issues printing my reconciliation reports. I open them hit the print - report and nothing happens. The report goes no where, to no printer.

I aslo cannot print a pdf with Microsoft pdf printer. One time it will work and the next it won't. I have used the Fix Doctor tool to no avail. It does not fix the issue.

Thank you,

Deryl Poirier

Printing Issues

Hello, Poirierco.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I'm here to help you with the issue of viewing the reconciliation report in PDF and printing it successfully.

If you are experiencing a situation where your Reconciliation report appears blank/empty and you are unable to print it out, there are several troubleshooting steps that you can take to resolve the issue.

Firstly, ensure your version of QuickBooks Desktop is up to date. If your QuickBooks is updated, try viewing Reconciliation Reports without displaying them as a PDF file. Then, let's generate the report again. If you continue to experience problems with your Reconciliation report, let's edit the Internet Preferences in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

  1. Open Adobe Reader.
  2. Select the Edit menu.
  3. Choose the Preference option, and from the Preference list, tap Internet.
  4. Uncheck the first check box labeled Display PDF in Browser, or if the box is already unchecked, check the box instead.
  5. Open the Reconciliation report.

If you're still encountering the same problem despite attempting potential troubleshooting steps, we can explore further options, such as updating, repairing, or reinstalling Adobe Acrobat Reader. Updating the software to the latest version may address any bugs or glitches that may be causing the issue. Repairing the installation can also help fix any corrupted or missing files.

If you've updated to the latest version of Adobe Reader/Acrobat and it hasn't fixed the problem, you'll need to repair your Adobe installation.

  1. Close Acrobat/Reader and all open web browser windows.
  2. Select the Start button at the bottom left of your screen.
  3. Type Control Panel, then press Enter.
  4. Click Programs and Features.
  5. Select Acrobat or Adobe Reader, then Uninstall/Change.
  6. On the Setup dialog box, select Next.
  7. Select Repair, then Next.
  8. Tap Install.
  9. When the process is complete, select Finish.

Then, restart your computer for changes to take effect. Then, open again the reconciliation report.

If none of the solutions above works, let's repair the PDF converter by running the QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool from the Tool Hub. If the issue persists, perform the second to fourth solutions through this article: Troubleshoot PDF And Print Problems With QBDT. Nonetheless, reinstalling the software from scratch can be a last resort to resolve the issue.

We understand the importance of having accurate and up-to-date financial information, and we are committed to helping you resolve any issues that you may encounter. With these troubleshooting steps, we hope to have you back up and running in no time. Have a great day!

Printing Issues

Thank you for getting back to me with a solution.

I found the issue was that the Microsfot Document Wrtier v4 was not installed, so I have installed it and everything seems to be working fine.

Again, thank you for your time and suggestions.

Ailene,

Thank you for getting back to me with some solutions.

I found out that I did not have Microsoft Document Writer v4 installed, for some reason Windows 11 didn't install it.

So I have downloaded and installed it and everything seems to be working fine at this time.

Again, thank you for your time in getting back to me.
