I updated this morning and received a message to reboot to continue - I rebooted twice and still QB would not open. I phoned in and after 2 hours, a representative got QB to open but I am having issues with transactions.
I have over 150 transactions that are all the same ones that recur monthly. Same vendors each month and normally QB categorizes and I look through then do a batch update. Now all of these transactions are not recognized.
How can I get these recurring transactions to be recognized by the system or else I will have to manually enter each one through more details. I tried phoning in and now no one will help. I am so weary of the horrible customer service of QB. I use QB at its most basic level for a very small business.
Thanks.
You've reached the right place for help, Grovegal.
It's our goal to make those recurring transactions to be recognized by the system. To achieve this, let's go ahead and use the Rebuild Data Tool. This automatically fixes company file data issues.
Here's how:
If QuickBooks doesn't find any problems, select OK. You can keep using your company file. You don't have any data damage. If QuickBooks finds an issue with your company file, select Rebuild Now.

In case you encounter data damage errors, you can have this article for steps on how to fix specific data damage in QBDT: Top data damage errors in QuickBooks Desktop.
Let me know in the comment section how the action goes. Thanks for your patience as we work for a fix. Keep safe!.
Which QB Desktop year version and Windows OS do you run?
Windows 10, QB 2019. We decided yesterday I just had to get it done so I entered each one manually but it is so annoying to have this software corrupted and no one at QuickBooks will support their products errors.
For anyone reading this contemplating buying any version of QuickBooks I would strongly suggest you look at other accounting software especially if you’re just a small company. I am closing my company as of 2021 and I just learned I must continue to pay $300 for every version for the next six years to comply with keeping records for the IRS in case of an audit. They will not allow access to your old records, nor let you pay to store. You must continuously pay for ever new version even if you’re not using the software. This company’s policies need exposing. Thanks for both responses.
Consider reinstalling your QBD 2019. Another option, you can still buy a new single license for QBD 2021. We can share the trial code of it to make sure your problem is solved before you decide to buy the license.
Thanks for your response, but the representative yesterday morning reinstalled 2019. That produced more problems. I’d rather not spend any more licensee since WB will make me pay for the next 6 years just to keep access to a business that is closed in case of any IRS audit. I have been through 3 audits over my long business life so having access is paramount should I be required by the IRS to produce explanation.
The very fact they offer nothing for situations like this other than to pay full price shows how this company needs to be exposed for unresponsive technical support and excessive fees. Thanks for your help.
