Profit and Loss Report

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. I'll share steps that ensure will help you create a monthly display column report with custom dates in QuickBooks Online

There are various Profit and Loss reports in QBO to compare your income and expenses for different time periods. With this, I suggest running the Profit and Loss by Month report and customize it. This way, you'll see a monthly comparison of sales or revenues for an entire year.

1. From QuickBooks Online, Go to the Reports tab menu at the left panel.
2. Choose  Profit and Loss by Month in the search bar.
3. Go to the Report period drop-down and choose Custom.
4. Select Months in the Display columns by field.
5. Hit the Run report button.

Is there a way to do this with custom 4 week and 5 week period dates instead of monthly? This same view but for these dates- 12/28/20-1/24/21, 1/25/21-2/21/21, 2/22/21-3/28/21, and so on. It's a 4week, 4week, 5week pattern for the year. Would be great if I could get this monthly view but in the format I need.

I understand that you want to customize the date periods in the Profit and Loss report to show 4 and 5 weeks ranges. As of now, we're unable to show that info in the said report. I've got two options to get the details you need.

Option 1: Create a custom report inside QuickBooks for each period and save and memorized that report.

Here's how:

1. Click Report menu.
2. Choose Profit and Loss report.
3. Select the customize.
4. Edit the columns to by week and hit Run report.
5. Click Save customization to memorize the report.

Option 2: External reporting apps can be used for more versatile reporting options. You can check for the available apps in Intuit apps store or online.

Have you explored any BI app as a workaround?

I have been trying to find some apps to help with what I need, so far I haven't found one that will let you do custom dates for the monthly view. It will just take too much time hand entering or copy and paste all that data.
