QB 2016 open invoices report no longer sorting in chronological order

Disclaimer: I asked this previously but apparently was not logged into my account and I am unable to find my original question to track responses. My apologies.

 

I have QB 2016 and when running an Open Invoices report, the report lists customers in alphabetical order and each open invoice for that customer in chronological order, oldest to newest.

 

Now today, the invoices are listed out of chronological and I cannot figure out how to change it. I have made no changes to the program or any filters.

 

When I click on "date" on the report, it sorts the entire list by invoice date, removing the customers alphabetic order.  I have already tried "edit" "re-sort list" but that did not change this report.

 

I have attached an example of the invoice dates being out of order in the report
