QB encountered an error while calculating tax. Sales tax is calculating incorrectly on invoices. Invoice shows taxable amount of 7% but is only charging 2%.

When I try to create a new invoice, the sales tax amount is calculated incorrectly. I try to save the invoice or send it but I get an error:

"We're sorry, Quickbooks encountered an error while calculating tax. Try reselecting or reentering the product/service item and saving the form again."

I attempted to change the tax amount manually but it only reverts back to the incorrect amount. I have tried several different tax codes but with no success.

I have been unable to create/send invoices, estimates or sales receipts for 4 days now!!! No automatic tax is setup.

I received a scammer call today only an hour after creating my last post on this website! It was someone stating they were from 'Quickbooks Support'. They read my post back to me and after doing some diagnostics and saying my data file extensions were corrupt and needed repaired, offered to repair the problem for $700 to $1600 dollars (see screen shot).

It's obvious there are people watching this website carefully and scamming people after they make posts! BEWARE!
