QB Online to Desktop- starting balance wrong in reconciliations

Good day, @Bridgette0066.

Let me help you fix the discrepancy in your reconciliation in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Reports often mismatch because of export limitations and the use of unsupported versions of Internet Explorer.

I'd recommend going back to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and try to convert your file again. Doing this can fix some converting problems. Here's how:

  1. On QuickBooks Desktop, go to File and select Close company.
  2. Go back and try to convert your file again. Follow this article for the detailed steps: Export and Convert your QBO Data to QBDT.
  3. After it finishes, check the Profit and Loss reports again. If they still don’t match, enter manual adjustments to fix the issue.

Moreover, you can fix the beginning balance issue by recreating the opening balance. Simply create a journal entry, then do a mini-reconciliation to correct it. Check out this article for more info: How to Fix Beginning Balance Issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

I've also included an article that will guide you in fixing common reconciliation in QuickBooks Desktop
