QBO Combined financial reporting from multiple companies

Hello, Locklearn.

I'm here to help you combine financial reports from multiple QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced companies.

You can combine multiple QBO Advanced companies using Spreadsheet Sync. If you haven’t already, add your company data to Spreadsheet Sync first.

Before doing so, make sure of the following:

• Make your chart of accounts (COA) in each company file identical as much as possible. Account names aren’t case-sensitive.
  • Accounts get combined if they have the same name, the same type, and are at the same hierarchical level in each report.
• Accounts won’t get combined if:
  • They’re at different levels, such as a subaccount with a main account.
  • They have spelling differences, such as “phone” and “telephone”.
  • They have different account numbers.
  • One account has an account number, but the other account doesn’t.

To combine reports, here's how:

1. In the Spreadsheet Sync panel, click Build multi-company reports.
2. Select the group you want to run the reports for.
3. Pick the report you want to view.
4. Tick Filters to download the data you want from the source.
5. Note: The filters may vary depending on the type of report. 
6. Run Report to get the data onto your spreadsheet. 
7. Use the spreadsheet’s built in features to create custom charts and graphs with your QuickBooks data.

How do we consolidate in QBO?

To verify my understanding, are you referring to consolidating reports, or something else in your books? If you could share a screenshot, this may be helpful as well.

You'll also want to be aware the Combine Reports feature is only available for subscribers using an Advanced plan. If you're like to upgrade your subscription, you can do so from the Subscriptions and billing screen.

Here's how:
 

1. Use your Gear icon, then go to Subscriptions and billing.
2. Click View payment history.
3. Confirm the payment details are up-to-date.
4. From your QuickBooks Online section, hit Downgrade your plan.
5. Review the plans.
6. Once you've found one, select Choose plan.
7. Follow the on-screen steps to finish upgrading your subscription.
