Good day, tpinedasales.
Let me assist you in navigating the QuickBooks Online.
When creating an invoice or other transactions, you won't be able to see the left navigation panel. The whole page will be the transaction you're creating. In order to see the navigation panel, you'll want to save the transaction and close it.
I have some articles here if you encountered display issues:

Not an option. Transaction pages will always overlap the entire QB interface.
Agreed this is not acceptable. My computer just recently started doing this on one of the companies I work with. It literally affects my vision and concentration to have this pop in, pop out, pop in, pop out screen. How can we shut this off?
I understand that the overlapping QuickBooks interface is affecting your business task, @JonPA.
My colleague AlexV is right. When you create a transaction in QuickBooks Online, the entire page is shown. The reason for the disappearance of the left navigation panel. Unless you've already completed and closed the transaction, you can see it again.

Hi Mich,
I must kindly disagree. QBO Plus does not have this issue. QBO Advanced did not have this issue until about 2 weeks ago. My left menu pain has been fixed, with an option at the top to reduce or expand based on the selection. No automatic collapse happened prior to two weeks ago (approximately), and is only on the QBO Advanced platform I use for one of my clients. Such menu auto collapse is on all Microsoft software if desired, or it can be fixed if desired. I cannot stand the flashing so it is disabled on anything I use. Except now on QBO Advanced.
PS: I did send feedback.
Wishing you the best of the New Year.
