Access: Estimates & Progress Invoicing Summary by Customer Report

Why is the report "Estimates & Progress Invoicing Summary by Customer Report" not accessible to the highest level Sales role (Sales Manager)? I can see the report as the Primary Company Admin; however my Sales Manager is not able to access it. This is critical functionality that I would think a Sales Manager role should have, I can NOT give out Admin Access to them to be able to access this report... Please Advise!

Thank you for posting here on the Community, @kevinamfs. I'm here to help you with progress invoicing In QuickBooks Online.

I understand that you want the sales manager to access the Estimates & Progress Invoicing Summary by Customer Report by giving them the highest level sales role. Currently, the report is accessible by the admin role. As a workaround, you can send it to them through email.

Due to the high volume of feature requests, Our Product Development Team may have overlooked the request to be able to customize the Estimates and Progress Invoicing Summary report and filter it to show specific data in QuickBooks.

You can send Feedback to our Engineers if you haven't yet sent your request. I'll input the steps below so you can proceed. To begin, here's how:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. In the upper-right corner, click the Gear icon and then select Feedback.
  3. Enter a brief description of your product suggestion, and then click Next.
  4. Type your email address.
  5. Once done, click Send Message.

In addition, I've got you this article in case you'd like to share your reports with your team: Share custom reports

Thanks for the response. Is there a reason this information requires Admin level privileges? It only contains info related to Estimates, Invoices, and Customers, which I would think should be accessible by a Sales Manager? Let me know if there's some privileged information in this Estimates & Progress Invoicing Summary by Customer Report which I haven't thought about.

I appreciate you for coming back to the thread for adding clarification about user access, kevinamfs. With this, let me discuss extra details on how admin works in QuickBooks. Then, ensure you'll be able to confirm what other things you can perform with the Estimates & Progress Invoicing Summary by Customer report in QBO.

The report being mentioned gives you a complete list of all estimates and connected progress invoices. This report contains important details about sales transactions and other customer data that needs only the admin can view.

The reason is also that a company admin has access to every part of the QuickBooks account. They can do everything the primary admin can do to manage the company file and see a snapshot of different aspects of the business. You can open this article to see further details about the different user access permissions: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, you can also customize the said report to format the layout so the right data shows up and focus on the details that you want to see: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to view steps on how memorizing a report allows you to save it with its current customization settings: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.

I'm always here if you needed more help with your reports in QBO. Just let me know in the reply section below, kevinamfs. Take care and have a great rest of the day!

ChristieAnn, we are fully aware of what data the report gives and it is exactly the type of data that should be given to a top sales role user. I just found out it isn't even offered when I grant the person an ADMINISTRATIVE role. only a "company administrator". Now they can see all of payroll but can't run a simple report to allow for staying on top of invoicing our clients? What's more is the lack of filtering ability. Please please please can you let us filter out projects that no longer have anything left to invoice of an estimate! If it is fully invoiced and there is ZERO left to invoice I don't need to see it. This is where we always hear... Well you can EXPORT it and do what ever you want! No No No... you can't because of the way this report is generated. It takes a great deal of time to properly filter our ZERO's. Call me I would be happy to explain how it should work. So that would be a great start. Allow for proper filtering and allow sales people and general administrative users to see this report. Asking quickbooks users to pay monthly for this service should entitle us to some helpfully updates once in a while.
