Join nowMy accountant has a 2018 version of QuickBooks. I have a 2019 version. He cannot open my transferred accountants file. Is there a way to do a backward compatibility? So that he can open and work on my file.
Hello there, @rlferraro.
Thank you for taking the time posting in the Community. Allow me to help share some insights about using the Accountant's Copy in QuickBooks Desktop.
You can still use the Accountant's Copy feature, even you and your accountant have a different QuickBooks version. However, the gap between the versions should only be just one year and the accountant has a more recent version.
Since you have the latest version, your accountant may need to upgrade to the latest version to work on an Accountant's Copy. The following article contains more information about this: Use the Accountant's Copy (Product versions: Accountant's Copy and QuickBooks Desktop).

You are the customer to your accountant; QB 2019 has been out for 6 months already. Of course your Service Provider who you pay, should always keep up with current tools in support of their clients.
